Sell Cookies Safely This Winter

Mother Nature has blessed us with extreme winter weather this week
across our Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons Council. Our #1 priority is the
safety of our Girl Scouts, cookie volunteers and family members. Please
be cautious during these extreme conditions and use common sense while
selling Girl Scout cookies.
Follow these Winter Weather safety tips for a successful cookie sale:
- Many of our schools, Girl Scout Offices and Cookie Cupboards are closed this week due to winter weather. Please always call ahead to double check on hours of operation.
- Stay inside! Do not risk the extreme conditions; wait for the storm to pass before you get out selling those cookies. Customers will not be out in this weather either.
- One of the great benefits of a Direct Sale is the flexibility!
There are many alternative sales options to sitting outside in the
cold or going door to door.
- Stay inside! Stay out of the zero temps and stay warm! Call your local mall or business to set up a cookie shop inside!
- Stay home! Sell cookies from the warmth of your own home via the online marketing feature through www.abcsmartcookies.com. Utilize the cookie e-card or facebook options which send a cookie order form attached to your message directly to your friends and family.
- Use the internet! Post cookie ads on facebook, twitter and other social networking sites.
- Send an email! Create a cookie marketing email and send to all your friends and family!
- Call them up! Dig out your cookie order card from last year and call all of our previous customers. If you sold to them last year I am sure they would love to buy from you again this year!
- Get crafty! Use this time inside to create cookie posters, ads, postcards etc. Get creative and have fun making cookie marketing pieces to use once the weather clears up. Create cookie postcards to mail to your friends and family members asking them to buy Girl Scout cookies!
Once you have collected all the orders and the storms have
passed email or call your local Cookie Cupboard to notify them
of your sales success and they will pull your cookie order for
you. Once your order is ready to be picked up you can hit the
ground running again by delivering all your cookie orders. PLUS!
If you have extra cookies in had all those customers may want to
buy even more! Have fun selling and always remember SAFETY
FIRST!
